SPEAKER PROFILE: STEVE LEE

Steve is a 28-years-old Organizing Partner of the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY). He is elected to represent and coordinate 26 children and youth constituencies involved in over 120 United Nations policy processes.

Steve started as a child rights activist through UNICEF at 16-years old at the 2009 G8 Summit, which led to the Copenhagen Climate Summit (COP15) and the Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20). Steve has since continued his global policy advocacy on Climate Change, Sustainable Development, and Youth Empowerment. Profoundly impacted by youth and Indigenous activists, Steve founded the Foundation for Environmental Stewardship. It is a Canadian youth-led, youth-serving sustainable development charity that educates, advocates, and implements sustainable development.

Steve listened to the voices of over 100,000 young Canadians in-person. He drove 160,000 km to 500 schools in 400 towns and helped students undertake more than a hundred local projects. Steve visited mostly rural and remote communities all across Canada from coast to coast to coast to weave the voices of youth from places most left behind.

SPEAKER PROFILE: PETER GEORGE

Throughout his childhood, Peter dealt with a lisp and a stutter. Consequently, he grew up shy and introverted, avoiding communicating with others as much as possible. When Peter entered the business world, he quickly learned how important strong public speaking skills are to one’s career and success. It’s because of this that he helps others be strong, confident presenters.

As a speaker, Peter has presented to more than 100,000 people in companies, organizations, and universities in six countries. As a public speaking trainer, Peter helps you progress from feeling anxious, frustrated, or ineffective to being calm, confident, and credible every time you speak in public — whether you are speaking to one person across a desk, 10 people in a conference room, or 100 people at an event.

For more than 17 years, Peter has worked with executives, attorneys, entrepreneurs, and professional speakers, as well as those at major corporations, universities, and organizations. Peter’s greatest joy comes when his clients develop a new level of confidence that they may not have thought possible.
